The trouble is, the workshops and events that feel most worth looking forward to tend to be the ones that fill up first. And by the time most people get around to thinking about autumn and Christmas bookings, the best spaces are already gone.

The downside of keeping things intimate is that spaces go quickly, particularly in the run-up to autumn and Christmas when people are starting to think about seasonal experiences and handmade gifts. A workshop that looks comfortably available in July can be fully booked by September without much warning.

What's Coming Up This Autumn

Trinket Dishes – 26th September

A two-hour creative fuse and fizz event  where you'll make not one, but three handmade fused glass dishes — choosing your own colours, patterns and textures from a beautiful selection of accessory glass. Each one goes through two firings: the first fuses everything into a smooth, glossy piece, and the second shapes it into its final dish form.

Looking Ahead to Christmas

Christmas Decoration Workshop – 14th and 21st November

My Christmas Decoration workshop is a perennial favourite, and with good reason. You'll design and make your own festive fused glass decorations, guided through every step in a relaxed and friendly setting. Once it's been kiln-fired, it'll be ready to collect in plenty of time for Christmas — or to give as a handmade gifts that will be brought out year after year.

Multiple dates are available, so there's flexibility to choose what suits your schedule. Book your place here. Please note, the 14th is a morning session (with coffee, tea, mince pies)  and the 21st is an afternoon session (with a welcome glass of fizz and mince pies), with both dates being held at Scotton Village Hall.

Fused Glass Festive Decorations at Hopewell Studios – 13th November

I'm also delighted to be teaching at Hopewell Studios in Knaresborough this November. This is a morning workshop running across three dates, where you'll create seven festive hanging glass ornaments to take home — two stars, three Christmas trees, a snowman and a robin.

It's a wonderful session for complete beginners and those with some glass fusing experience alike, with all materials provided and tea or coffee on arrival to get you settled in. Spaces are bookable directly through Hopewell Studios, so if you're local to Knaresborough or simply want another date option, it's well worth taking a look.

Christmas Gifts Workshop

For something a little shorter and perfectly timed for the season, my Christmas Gifts Workshop is a relaxed, focused session designed to help you make something beautiful and personal for someone special. From £50, it's one of the most accessible workshops I offer, and it makes for a lovely festive afternoon.

For Those Who Want to Build Their Skills Before Christmas

If the idea of making something for Christmas has sparked a wider interest in glass fusing, there's also plenty of time between now and the end of the year to attend a proper skills-building workshop.

The Beginners Half Day Workshop gives you a full introduction to the craft — cutting, shaping, colour and composition — in one satisfying afternoon. And if you'd like to develop your skills across more than one session, the 2 Week Beginners Workshop offers a more gradual and immersive journey into the craft.
